Am I A Soldier of the Cross

Am I A Soldier of the Cross
by Isaac Watts, Dan Walter

Intro - slow:  E   E   D   D   A   A   E   E   (repeat)
                            E                D                          A                      E
Verse 1           Am I a soldier of the cross,    a follower of the Lamb,
                                 E                   D                            A                               E
And shall I fear to own His cause,  or blush to speak His Name?
                               E                 D                           A                          E
Must I be carried to the skies,   on flowery beds of ease,
                                    E                        D                             A                                    E
While others fought to win the prize,  and sailed through bloody seas?

                                         E                     D                             A                               E
CHORUS:  Sure I must fight if I would reign;  increase my courage, Lord.
                                        E                       D                              A                        E    E
I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain,  supported by Thy Word.

E   E   D   D   A   A   E   E

                                E                         D                              A                                  E

                                 E                        D                    A                             E
They see the triumph from afar,  by faith’s discerning eye.
                                   E                       D                              A                       E
When that illustrious day shall rise,   and all Thy armies shine

In robes of victory through the skies,  the glory shall be Thine.

Psalm 1 - How Blessed Is The Man

Psalm 1: 1-6  How Blessed Is The Man
By Dan Walter
           C                                                      G
How blessed is the man who does not walk
F                                                       C
In the counsel of the wicked nor stand
                                             C7
In the path of sinners nor sit
           F
In the seat of scoffers
                   C                    G                  C  F  C
But his delight is in the Law of the Lord

                   F           C         G                              C    C7
And in His Law he meditates day and night
                   F           C          G                             C   F  C
And in His Law he meditates day and night

                     C                               G
And he will be like a tree firmly planted
F                                               C
By streams of water which yields
                                                 C7
Its fruit in its season and its leaf
F
Does not wither
                    C            G             C  F  C
And in whatever he does he prospers

(chorus)

         C                                                       G
The wicked are not so but they’re like chaff
F                                       C
Which the wind drives away
                                                     C7
Therefore the wicked will not stand
F
In the judgement
          C                         G                     C  F  C
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous

                         F         C              G                 C C7
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous
                         F      C         G                  C  F  C
But the way of the wicked will perish
